Pre-purchase Survey:
HBS conducts detailed surveys providing an extensive report of vessel conditions, to help the buyers reduce the risks of unexpected additional repair costs, unexpected operational downtime and damage to their reputation.
Vessels On/off hire surveys:
HBS delivers independent verification of bunker levels and any damages to cargo holds or structures that are sustained during the period of charter. The purpose of these surveys is principally to determine the extent of damage, other than fair wear and tear, which may have occurred to the ship between the commencement and termination of the charter. Whilst the determination of damage is the principal purpose of the on/off hire surveys, it also includes checking of documents and certificates, the establishment of quantities of stores on board and the establishment of the cargo spaces cleanliness.
Hatch Cover Testing by Ultrasonic Equipment:
Hose tests or Ultrasonic water tightness analysis are performed according to instructions received in order to ensure that vessels hatch covers are watertight.
Hull and Machinery Insurance Damage and Condition Surveys:
Condition surveys are performed so that the insurance company can determine whether or not the vessel is an acceptable risk. During damage surveys, our experts can investigate the cause, nature and extent of damages and failures of hulls, structures, systems and machinery of all types of ships.
Protection and Indemnity Insurance Condition and Other Surveys:
Condition surveys are performed so that the insurance company can determine whether or not the vessel is an acceptable risk. During accident investigations, HBS provides expertise in nautical accidents, an all-round expertise to assist in handling third party liability issues, as well as marine engineering services where necessary.
Towing Survey:
Towing surveys are performed to ensure that the vessel and the towing arrangement are fit for the intended voyage.

HBS delivers independent reporting on insurance claims and assists in counter or cross-claim proceedings. We perform surveys of bulk, breakbulk, containerized cargoes that were transported by means of sea-going vessels, trucks or airplanes.
